Musikhochschule and masterclasses

Since 2016/17, Clara Blessing has been teaching at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg . Her classes include single lessons (main and subsidiary subject), chamber music and orchestra practice as well as theme-related group lessons and reed making and are meant for interested students of related instruments (such as modern oboe, recorder, bassoon and saxophone) as well as for those specializing in historical instruments.

Masterclasses and workshops both in Germany and internationally round Clara Blessing's teching activities off.

Studies for Hautboy

For her teaching activities, Clara Blessing has developed a book of studies for baroque and classical oboe: It contains pieces from original oboe methods from 1695-1789, sorted by keys and combined with historical key-characterizations. This way, the book accompanies the students in their daily practice of technique and virtuosity, articulation and sound and is at the same time a first step in the practical approach to the sound concept of the 18th century, to historical sources and manuscripts as well as to the history and the development of the oboe.

The book is at the moment available for non-commercial use. If you are interested or if you have any questions or suggestions, please write via the contact form.
